Hip Hop

These classes teach rhythm, coordination, musicality, and hip hop choreography without suggestive music/movements.  Students are challenged to think on their feet while enjoying an energetic and fast-paced dance class.  Our Hip-Hop and Break dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun.  It is highly recommended to be taking a Tumbling class concurrently with this class or to have a background in Tumbling as the skills you learn there will be a great advantage to the tricks you need to perform in hip-hop and break, including (but not limited to) core development, handstands, and cartwheels.

Levels
Foundational Hip-Hop/Break (formerly level I) This is our beginning level of the dance style, and moving into the dancers who have developed some skills.
Progressive Hip-Hop/Break (formerly II-IV) This level of dancer has previous skills and have worked on their tumbling skills as well and are starting to polish tricks and learn more intricate footwork and harder tricks.
Proficient-Elite Hip-Hop (formerly teen) This is more advanced dancing for older teen dancers who are moving more towards a specific Hip-Hop style of dance rather than B-Boy.
Intermediate-Elite Breakdance (formerly Int-Adv) These dancers have a firm grasp of dance beats and choreography they are familiar with many styles of footwork and are working on advanced tricks and footwork.

**Dancers must be 8 by September 1st to start in the fall or the previous summer- 7 year-olds can be evaluated to start a year earlier.**
